How to update your password in HCL Notes
Purpose: If you have recently updated your AD password and want your password for Notes to match, follow the instructions below. For Notes 14 clients and later follow the first description, for Notes clients before version 14, follow the second description.
Prerequisite:
Active AD account.
Active Notes account.
Note: See below for Notes clients earlier than 14.
Description for Notes 14 client and above:
Log into Notes
Click File -> Change Password:
This will bring up a dialog for you to enter your existing PW. After a successful login, you will be shown a new dialog to set your new Notes PW. Click OK to save your new Notes PW.
Description for Notes clients before version 14:
Log into yourNotes client
Click File -> Security -> User Security…
This will bring up a new dialog for you to enter your existing password:
In the User Security dialog, on the Security Basics tab, click Change Password…
This will open a new dialog for you to enter your existing password:
After logging in, the Change Password dialog will display:
Enter your new password then click OK.
